These are the questions and decisions on the minds of most people as they consider coaching. And people come to coaching and choose their coaches in a variety of ways. Is coaching for me? Decising About Coaching: answers to questions about what coaching is and how it works. Is coaching for now? Consider whether this is a good time to invest your time and energy. Is coaching worthwhile? Review research on the value of coaching. How do I choose a coach? The most common elements to look for when choosing a coach. What can I expect when I'm looking for a coach? How introductory coaching conversations or strategy sessions work with me and many other coaches. I discovered coaching by reading a book - no surprise to anyone who knows me. (The book was Coach Yourself to Success by Talane Meidaner. I had ordered it by mistake from a book club.) I found my first coach through the internet. I gathered my courage to try coaching through an exchange of emails with her over about a month. When I finally talked to her on the phone I knew she was the right coach and that I was ready to be coached. You will find your own way. There are strategies, check lists and decision points to help you discover your own answers both at this website and at related sites. Just follow the links. You don't have to study and ponder over this decision if you don't want to; then again that may be exactly what you want and need. If you just want to talk this through with someone, contact me. I will be happy to help.
